The in-studio performer was a journey in itself. One of the biggest challenges was getting different shots of the singer simultaneously: her face, hands, whole body, etc. This was done in Murphy studio because it was convenient and had all the equipment to be able to switch from camera to camera. Because the producers had only used the Rarig studio, using Murphy was unfamiliar and different but ultimately a good experience. Best piece of advice: use all three of the in-studio cameras and cut from camera to camera during the taping so you don’t have to cut it up in Final Cut.
Overall, entertainment is a fun segment with room for your own personal touch. The trick is finding your focus whether it’s local, national or international and finding a creative way to incorporate each part. Ultimately, have fun with it and your audience will too!
